Olay Active Hydrating Cream [Original]

I am in love with Olay Active Hydrating Cream. It makes my face feel so soft. :]
My favorite thing about it is that it absorbs almost instantly into my skin. I don't have to stand around waiting for my face lotion to absorb so that I can put my makeup on. Which is awesome because I often have to get ready in a rush.

It costs between $7-$9 dollars depending where you purchase it.
It is a light pink cream that smells kind of like baby lotion. I think it is a pleasant scent.
It has the consistancy of a face cream, which is thicker than just plain lotion. Kinda reminds me of the consistancy of yogurt. It is perfect for winter time when skin needs extra moisture. Depending on your skintype, it may not be good for summertime use. Also, this does not contain any SPF. So you will want to find a makeup that does. (Which isn't hard to do nowadays!)

It is dermatologist tested & non-comedogenic (won't clog pores).
Comes in a 2.0 oz (56g) jar. The packaging is adorable. It comes in a little pink-tinted frosted jar. Along with the black lid, it has a seal on the inside that will lock the product in and not let any air or germs contaminate it. (Which I love!)
This is by far my favorite daytime face moisturizer.

5/5 stars: It absorbs almost instantly and doesn't irrate my skin. Leaves my face hydrated all day long.
I would reccommend it to anyone who has dry skin, especially in the winter time.

Mini Walmart Haul

Okay so I went to Walmart to return my L'Oreal Bare Naturale Makeup. It broke my face out something horrible. Ew.  Anyways, I got my refund and went ahead and bought...more makeup! What a surprise! :]

And what did I decide to get this time?

Clockwise from top:

  • N.Y.C. Eye Liner Pencil in White : $0.98

  • Neutrogena 3-in-1 Concealor in Fair : $8.26

  • Maybelline New York Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quad in Designer Chocolates : $5.24

  • Almay Line Smoothing Makeup with SPF 15 in buff 140 : $11.82

  • Almay Line Smoothing Pressed Powder in light 100 : $10.72

  • Almay Powder Blush in mauve 160 : $ 8.82

  • Covergirl Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers in Guava Splash : $5.16

I have heard good things about the Almay line. I have dry, fair skin and the l.s.m. is supposed to "hydrate all day". :] So we will see. I will be doing a review of my Almay products in a day or 2.

I have hereditary dark circles. It's just a fact of life for me. I could sleep for 7 days and wake up looking like I stayed up for 7 nights. Guess I am just unlucky. lol So I am hoping that the 3-in-1 Concealer works well. It is made specifically for eyes. Also will be reviewing that.

Now....time to go play! And make sure this makeup haul loot is for keeps!
[But as always, I kept the reciept! All prices from my local Walmart.]

It's a love/hate thing

I found a mineral foundation that I love. L'Oreal Bare Naturale Mineral foundation. Well actually I like their whole line of products.

So I bought this at Walmart. The first day I used it, I looked amazing. My dark circles were concealed. My face was even and it looked like it was glowing. It was that good. At about day 3 or 4, I realized I had started to break out. I currently am sporting 3 nice zits on my face. I have the type of skin people envy. I hardly ever break out. And that is how I knew right off the bat that I am breaking out from using this new line of make up. And the pimples are located on my cheeks and near the bridge of my nose. (This is the area I sweep the most with the brush. And my cheeks get a lot of action considering I am using the whole line: foundation, blush, glow, finishing powder) The one on my cheek is especially red and gross. I hate pimples, probably because I never have any.
I did some research online (because google is my G-d), and found that L'Oreal Bare Naturale contains Titanium Dioxide (3.0%). And apparently it doesn't mix well with my face. I know a lot of foundations contain ingredients like this, but I have never experienced a reaction to ANY makeup like this before.
So guess what? Tomorrow I am taking this all back to walmart and trying a new foundation. Not sure what I am going to get yet. The foundation I used before the Bare Naturale is Revlon Colorstay. And it is wonderful. But I am looking for a foundation that will give me a lighter coverage. I want to be able to see my cutesie freckles. Also, I sometimes feel like I am wearing a mask with the colorstay, just because I really don't need such a heavy, full coverage foundation. ;)

Rating: 2/5 Stars : I like it, I just can't wear it. And from what I've read online, I'm not the only one to break out.

My eyes are going to start twitching soon...

Okay so I decided to blog again. But this time, to really do it. Not half it like before. I need an outlet. And hey, why not? What's there to lose? (sleep...)
The reason for starting a blog again?
I got my Internet back at home! :]
I had it disconnected temporarily while I was on leave from work.
Had to save money some how. So I chose to live in the days before modern wondrous technology for a few months.
It was....bad.
And not something I recommend to anyone, unless it's a must. (As in my case.)
So far, since having the internet turned back on, I have visited every site known to woman.
And now I need to go to bed.
:]
